BMA prepares to open new vocational training school in Prawet, aiming to cover 4 corners of the city
Mrs. Silapasuai Rawisaengsun, Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), revealed after having a site visit to inspect the construction progress of BMA vocational training school (Prawet) located at Chaloem Phrakiat Ratchakan Thi 9 Road, Prawet District, that the BMA has been working on a project to construct the BMA vocational training school (Prawet) which is the latest vocational training school. It was moved from the BMA vocational training school (Bon Kai) because of various reasons. For example, the traffic condition at Bon Kai area is quite congested, the old school building is small and cramped, and there is also a construction of expressway’s entrance and exit near the school. Moreover, Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, sets out policy to construct vocational training schools covering the 4 corners of Bangkok for occupational promotion and income generation. This can respond more to the needs of the people because they can make use of various vocational courses to actually have an occupation and earn income to support families.
This new BMA vocational training school is located in Prawet District on land owned by the BMA near Suanluang Rama IX Public Park. The BMA receives cooperation from One Bangkok Project who supports the construction of buildings including a 4-storey school building, a 3-storey dormitory for school personnel, and Nakhonphan Building. Once the construction is complete, it will be the biggest and the most perfect BMA vocational training school among the 10 vocational training schools of the BMA. It offers more than 200 interesting vocational training courses covering all areas of occupation. There are also new vocational courses include barista training course, locksmith training course, and flower arranging course. The school will be beneficial for the people living in east Bangkok area. At present, the construction is progressing at a very fast pace and expected to be complete in January 2021.
The school’s first learning and teaching activity will start in May 2021. The courses will be conducted in 3 periods, namely, May – August, September – December, and December – March, and divided into 3 rounds, namely, in the morning during 09.00 – 12.00 hrs., in the afternoon during 13.00 – 16.00 hrs., and in the evening during 17.00 – 20.00 hrs. The tuition fee for all courses is 105 Baht, except for computer and spa courses. Please contact all 10 BMA vocational training schools for further inquiries and applying for the course.
