BMA ensures the public with quality inspection of emergency medical service vehicles for the year 2021

Pol.Lt.Gen. Sopon Pisuttiwong, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, presided over the opening ceremony of project to inspect and certify emergency medical service vehicles in the emergency medical service system of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) for the year 2021 at Civic Plaza, Bangkok City Hall (Sao Chingcha).

The National Institute for Emergency Medicine (NIEM) specifies that all emergency medical service vehicles that join the operation of emergency medical service must be registered, inspected, and have the license renewed annually at the Department of Land Transport. In addition, the vehicles must pass the inspection of provincial-level agency responsible for inspecting and checking emergency medical service vehicles. In Bangkok metropolitan area, the NIEM appoints Medical Service Department of the BMA to be the agency in charge of inspecting and checking emergency medical service vehicles.

In this regard, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Emergency Medical Service Center (Erawan Center) under Medical Service Department of the BMA has conducted this project to regularly and annually inspect and evaluate standard and preparedness of equipment for emergency medical service vehicles in the emergency medical service system of BMA. The project is categorized into 2 levels, namely, emergency medical service vehicles at Advanced Life Support level (ALS) and Basic Life Support level (BLS) for BLS unit and for First Responder Unit (FR). There are 103 emergency medical service vehicles participated in the checking and inspection process divided into 23 advanced emergency medical service vehicles and 80 basic emergency medical service vehicles.
