Pol.Lt.Gen. Sopon Pisuttiwong, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, presided over the opening ceremony of public service points which were set up for facilitating and taking care of people during the 2021 New Year celebration. This 24-hour service starts from December 29, 2020 – January 1, 2021. It will facilitate the people to have a safe trip and stay away from accidents throughout the 2021 New Year holidays. Then, the Deputy Governor had an inspection visit to raise spirit and morale of the officers who were assigned to be on duty at the roadblocks and checking/screening points for migrant workers before entering the Bangkok Metropolitan area to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The public service points were set up at several places such as Boromratchachonnani Road (inbound direction) point and service point under the overpass of Putthamonthon Sai 3 Road.
The Deputy Governor said that the launch of public service points, which was the collaboration between public and private sectors in Thawi Watthana district area, aimed to reduce the accidents during New Year celebration. Nevertheless, this year, everyone must remain vigilant and be more careful due to COVID-19 outbreak. Therefore, the Royal Thai Government and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration have continuously attached a great importance to the public safety and health care. In this regard, the service points could help screen the people entering Bangkok as well.
