BMA opens “Wanaphirom Romklao Park” in Lat Krabang District
Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, presided over the opening ceremony of “Wanaphirom Romklao Park”, the new public park of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). It will be a place for relaxation, exercise, and recreational activities for people living in Lat Krabang District and its neighboring areas. Wanaphirom Romklao Park is located at the new Krung Thep Kritha Road – Chao Khun Thahan Road and Rom Klao Road in Lat Krabang District. This 30-rai public park highlights the planting of more than 2,000 perennials in order to increase efficiency in reducing pollutants and dust in the air and to create better environment for the public.
Wanaphirom Romklao Park is divided into 2 parts. Firstly, westside park includes walking and running tracks of 520 meters, walkway in forest park of 243 meters, health garden, children playground, public toilets, and public rest-house. Secondly, eastside park includes walking and running tracks of 622 meters, walkway in forest park of 200 meters, health garden, children playground, sport fields, public toilets, and public rest-house.
The BMA invites the general public to visit the new “Wanaphirom Romklao Park” and enjoy a garden of more than 50,000 colorful West Indian periwinkle or pinkle-pinkle flowers. This is one of the five flower gardens in BMA public parks under “Bangkok Flora Festival” organized by the BMA. For those who are interested in visiting the park, it opens daily from 5:00 a.m. – 21:00 p.m. The BMA requests for cooperation from the general public in complying with the COVID-19 prevention and control measures, namely, to have body temperature screening, wear sanitary or fabric face masks, wash hands with alcohol, and maintain physical distancing while visiting the public park.
