BMC approves Road No. 11 Project to solve traffic problem in Government Complex

(January 27, 2021) Mr. Khamron Komonsuphakit, Chairman of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council (BMC) chaired the Bangkok Metropolitan Council meeting participated by Members of BMC, Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang (Governor of Bangkok), executives of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and related organizations at BMC meeting room, Irawat Phatthana Building, Bangkok City Hall II, Din Daeng District.

The meeting held today resolved to approve the motion on the BMA’s request for the approval to implement a construction project to improve Pracha Chuen Road, starting from Metropolitan Waterworks Authority to Chaeng Watthana Road (Road No. 11) which is outside Bangkok metropolitan area. This project relates to Road No. 10 Project in Lak Si district area, linking to the Government Complex Commemorating His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary, 5th December 2007, and Pracha Chuen Road, totaling 1,800 meters. The project can systematically solve traffic problem in the Government Complex and can facilitate people who come to use the service of Chulabhorn Hospital. However, this project will be conducted outside the Bangkok metropolitan area and it needs consent from Municipality of Pak Kret City and Nonthaburi province before starting the project. At present, Municipality of Pak Kret City and Nonthaburi province give consent to implement the project as planned. Therefore, the BMA proposed this motion for the approval of the BMC. The Road No. 11 Project is a construction of 4 lane reinforced concrete road of 30-meter width together with lighting system, drainage system, traffic signs and other related components. The total length is approximately 1,300 meters.
