BMA sets a target to renovate Thung Khru Happy Center and Chaloem Phra Kiat Sports Center

Mr. Kriangyos Sudlabha, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, had a site visit to inspect Thung Khru Happy Center, Chaloem Phra Kiat Sports Center, and Learning Center for Family at Children’s Discovery Museum 2 (Thung Khru).

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has implemented renovation project to improve the Happy Centers and Sports Center under its supervision. At present, some buildings are in poor condition and some pieces of equipment cannot be used at its full capacity. It can cause harm to people who come to use the service. Consequently, the BMA has plans for urgent renovation and for long-term renovation.

Currently, rooms in the buildings of Thung Khru Happy Center in Thung Khru District are old and in bad condition and some pieces of equipment have deteriorated due to wear and tear. Therefore, it is necessary to be renovated. Moreover, vacant areas in front of and on the side of the buildings need to be redeveloped and it is planned to be used as activity field or small football field.  

At present, many people and athletes come to use the services of Chaloem Phra Kiat Sports Center. In order to provide safety and security as well as to facilitate all service users, the BMA has set plans for urgent and long-term renovation. The urgent renovation plan includes the renovation of gymnasium roof, exercise rooms, and locker rooms for athletes and the long-term renovation plan includes repair and improvement of scoreboard and lighting system inside football field.

In this regard, the Deputy Governor of Bangkok will expedite the renovation for public safety and prevent any harms that may occur to all service users.
