Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, visited Bang Khun Thian Geriatric Hospital to inspect its operational performance. Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has establish a field hospital in the compound of the hospital to accommodate COVID-19 patients in Bangkok metropolitan area. The field hospital has been used for the observation of patients with an asymptomatic COVID-19 infection or those with mild or moderate symptoms since December 22, 2020. As of February 16, 2021, 149 patients infected with COVID-19 were admitted to the hospital. Among them, 131 patients have fully recovered and been discharged. 7 patients were transferred to other hospitals for further treatment of pneumonia. At present, 11 patients are still at the hospital for treatment.

At any rate, the Governor of Bangkok has been concerned about both officers and patients. Therefore, he urged the hospital to facilitate and pay close attention to patients, officers and its facilities to ensure safety and sterilization as well as to create better understanding among people living in the neighboring areas.

At present, Bang Khun Thian Geriatric Hospital still provides regular outpatient services. People do not have to worry about the spread of disease while having services as the hospital has clearly allocated zones for providing treatment and separated officers to provide services to and take care of outpatients for their utmost safety.
